Choosing A Single Instrument Humidor

When choosing a single instrument humidor, it's best to consider a few key factors and understand the differences, similarities, and terminology to get the proper fit, form, and function.

We have three standard types of single instrument humidors, which are available in a variety of wood species.  Our standard catalog offers over 25 domestic and exotic wood species and we carry varying levels of inventory of each.

For those looking for more customization, we have three custom build batches per year.   Our custom build batches consist of all types of single instrument humidors using rare hardwoods from around the world, custom stain selections, custom sizes, and unique combinations of two or more woods.

Humidor Technology

All of our humidors operate the same way by creating an airtight environment and providing a reliable means of humidity control.  We create this isolated space by using a neoprene gasket and a pair of high strength latches which pull the door tight to the gasket.  The humidity control is provided by Boveda Two Way Humidification Packets, which come in either 49%, 49% High Absorption (HA), and 72% packets.

Three Standard Types

ClimaCase | Triangle

The ClimaCase | Triangle humidor was designed around a dreadnaught sized guitar and is suitable for most acoustic and electric guitars.  Instruments with a lower bout of 17" or greater and extended length will need either our Jumbo or Bass Guitar size.

Three anchor points - one at the top below the hanger locations and a pair at the bottom spaced 16" on center - are pre-drilled into the back of the case to achieve superior anchoring to the wall.  Following installation, use the provided 1/2" matching wood plug to conceal the screws and create a finished appearance.

The ClimaCase | Triangle humidor is fully convertible to a ClimaStand | Triangle with the addition of a base unit.

ClimaCase | Rectangle

The ClimaCase | Rectangle humidor has the same width bottom as the triangle shape and is suitable for most acoustic and electric guitars, allowing for some slightly larger instruments to fit properly due to lack of the tapered design.  Most instruments with a lower bout of 17" or greater can fit; however, those with extended length will require our Bass Guitar size.

Five anchor points - one at the top below the hanger locations, a pair at the top, and a pair at the bottom spaced 16" on center - are pre-drilled into the back of the case to achieve superior anchoring to the wall.  Following installation, a provided 1/2" matching wood plug to conceal the screws and create a finished appearance.

ClimaStand | Triangle

The ClimaStand | Triangle is our flagship humidor and has been around since the inception of Acoustic Remedy in 2008.  The humidor portion is identical to the ClimaCase | Triangle and the wedge shaped base creates a stable platform with a slight decline that positions the instrument at a comfortable viewing angle.  With our innovative Bolt On/Off system, the base is easily installed or removed within minutes with only an Allen wrench.

With a stable footprint and a storage compartment on the backside, the base is both functional, aesthetically pleasing, and can be made from the same wood or different wood than the humidor.
