Amp Cabinet

Your amplifier is worth looking at. Tubes, tweed, grille cloth, a badge you chose on purpose — none of that belongs under a blanket in the corner.

The Amp Cabinet puts it behind glass, the way our humidors treat a guitar. Dust stays off it. Daylight stays off the grille cloth. Interior lighting makes the most of it after dark. And it stays ready: the amplifier sits on a roll-out shelf running on Blum soft-close glides, so you open the door, pull it forward and play. Nothing unplugged, nothing hauled out of a closet.

It is built by the same Amish craftsmen who make our ClimaCab humidors, in small batches, from the same wood library — Mission or raised panel sides, adjustable feet and a hardwood top. Ash, cherry and walnut can be ordered with a live edge slab top instead.

The standard interior fits an amplifier 18" tall x 20" wide x 10" deep. Bigger, or an odd shape? Send us the dimensions and we'll quote one built around it.

Choose when you order

• Live edge slab top — add $150, available in ash, cherry and walnut. Select it with the wood species.
• Flip In door — add $150. Specialty hinges and slides carry the door up above the amplifier when it is open and tuck it inside the face framing when it is shut, so nothing swings out into the room.
• UV blocking safety glass — add $100. Worth it if the cabinet sits anywhere near a window.
• Interior LED lighting — add $100.
• Staining — add $75. Some species take stain beautifully; others look better under a natural clear coat. Ask us and we'll tell you which is which.
• Hermetically sealed interior — add $225. We gasket around the entire opening and fit latches that pull the door shut on a piano hinge, then include Boveda two way packets to keep the relative humidity under control. Worth it if your amplifier lives near the ocean, where salt in the air can speed up corrosion of critical components, or anywhere the conditions swing hard through the year.
