Record Console
The turntable, the amplifier and the whole collection, in one piece of furniture
A record collection is something you built, one sleeve at a time. It deserves better than a milk crate and a shelf that sags.
One piece, the whole ritual
Everything you love about listening, in one piece of furniture. The turntable sits up top. Your receiver or amp lives in the open bay below, on a shelf deep enough for a real one. The records file upright behind solid hardwood dividers, with room alongside for books and the oversized sleeves that never fit anywhere else.
From $2,900.
Cut into the top
A slot routed into the top stands an album cover upright, so whatever is spinning, or whatever is next, is on display where you can see it. The covers are half the reason to own records. Most record cabinets file them away. This one shows them off.
Why the dividers matter
A 12 inch LP sleeve is 12 3/8 inches square, and vinyl bends under its own weight. Stacked flat, the records at the bottom carry everything above them. Leaning in a half-empty shelf, they slowly take on the angle they are leaning at.
The dividers break the run into short bays, so every record stands square and supported on both sides, with its weight on the edge where the record can take it.
The top is a flat, continuous surface rather than a fitted well, so almost any turntable sits on it — including belt drives with a hinged dust cover, which need clearance behind to open. Send us your model if you want us to check before you order.
We build from an extensive library of sustainably harvested domestic and exotic hardwoods, and our supplier network can source more on request. Some species take stain beautifully; others are better under a natural clear coat. Ask us and we'll tell you which is which.
We can put a live edge slab top on a console, but because the album slot has to be routed into it we quote those individually rather than list them. Tell us the wood you have in mind and we'll price it.
We can build one around your room, your collection or your components. Tell us the space you have and what has to go in it, and we'll come back with a quote.
Send us your turntable, your components and roughly how many records you're storing, and we'll tell you which console fits — or quote one built around it.
