Record Console

A record collection is something you built, one sleeve at a time. It deserves better than a milk crate and a shelf that sags.

The Record Console holds the whole ritual in one piece of furniture. The turntable sits up top. Your receiver or integrated amplifier lives in the open bay below it. The records themselves file upright behind solid hardwood dividers, where they belong.

Cut into the top is a slot that stands an album cover upright. Whatever is spinning, or whatever is next, leans there where you can see it — which is how most people want to live with records anyway.

It is built by the same Amish craftsmen in western Wisconsin who make our ClimaCab humidors, from the same wood library, with the same Blum hardware and the same catalyzed lacquer.

Why records live better upright

A 12" LP sleeve is 12 3/8" square, and vinyl bends under its own weight. Stacked flat, the records at the bottom of the pile carry everything above them. Leaning in a half-empty shelf, they slowly take on the angle they are leaning at. The dividers here break the run into short bays, so every record stands square and supported on both sides, with its weight carried on the edge where the record can take it.
